Great book! Not a typical romance novel, there is a little of everything. Great character development and the relationships feel very real. The action scenes are very fluid and fit perfectly into the narrative and the dreams play a very unique role in the story. Overall a great book!

The further I got into the book the harder it was to put it down. It is absolutely fabulous! There is action, adventure, magic, war, you name it then it is there (except aliens and zombies). I cannot wait to introduce my kids to this book (middle school to adults, the 1 & 5 year old would not get it) once they have finished what the are currently reading. This book truly had me excited every step of the way as it broke out of many norms for books set that far in the past and gave a fresh light on the whole setting.

Iris Before the Storm is tempestuous love story with a heroine instead of a hero. It is refreshing to see women’s fiction by women with a female protagonist. I walk to the train station and it was a great time to listen to the book. Many times I would sit in my car so I could keep listening. I enjoyed this story of love, growth, and discovery.

From a small farm to a wider world
I started writing short stories when I learned how to write and read, taking inspiration from nature and the world around me.
Growing up on a small farm I learned how to take care of the land I lived on, and to not take this world for granted. I write high fantasy, dark romance and poetry — often as an outlet for pain, and to shine a light on depression and invisible illness in an adventurous way.
